Technically, that's this weekend in Charlotte. However, for us that was last weekend. Last Saturday we went to two totally different types of races.

That morning we did the Warrior Dash. This was another of those crazy obstacle races. We did this one as a group with a couple of my friends. Fairly early in the race, one of them hurt her ankle and had to walk it. Although she protested that the rest of us could continue on ahead, none of us was willing to be the jerk. I considered this more of a social outing, anyway. We kind of made up for it by racing through the obstacles. The husband had a really hard time, though, when we got passed by a 75 yr old, a pregnant woman and people from the next wave (started thirty minutes after us).

| The Warrior Roast |
After the race, the shower consisted of a water truck and a man with a hose spraying a large crowd of people. Not terribly effective. However, I managed to scrape enough of the mud off that a change of clothes made me feel sort of human again. We availed ourselves of our one free beer and the crazy expensive turkey legs and other beer and listened to the music for awhile. Then it was time to head home and try to scrub off some more of the mud before our next event.

For the husband's birthday, I bought him tickets to the NASCAR All-Star Race. I blame temporary insanity, especially since that's plural. I went with him to the race. We were in the really redneck section, the one where people actually got in fights over drivers. Prime people-watching. It was too bad we couldn't listen to the announcers or we could have listened for some live
