Mad with Power

Tonight I'll be responsible for "running the plant" for nine hours.  When my boss first told me this, I inquired what duties this would actually entail.

"Make sure things are getting done.  Tires are moving from one station to another.  That sort of thing."

I pointed out that in 80% of the plant, I wouldn't know what "things getting done" even looked like.

"Just make sure people look like they're working."

Upon my continued skepticism, he finally settled on:

"I just don't want to hear the plant burned down because Andi was on duty."

I love making sure people set high expectations for me.  Especially since the plant is mainly metal and concrete.
