My part-time job requires that employees always wear a nametag. Yesterday, I happened to be suffering a particularly spectacular bout of forgetfulness, and walked into work without mine. You know that sinking feeling when you just realize you're missing something important and it's a little too late?
Luckily we had some new employee name-tags in the office. The company requires that all employees wear a nametag, not that those nametags be correct. I spent the day masquerading under a pseudonym.
The day passed with the switch largely unnoticed, except for two customers that took great care to note my name from my nametag. By the way, that's kind of creepy, please just ask someone's name. Hopefully, they won't come back when I'm working with my correct nametag...
