Bad Timing

This morning was the only morning in the near future where I had to be on my feet.  The perfect day for a sprained ankle!  I hit the edge of the mat rock climbing yesterday and turned my ankle.  It didn't seem too bad, so wrapping and icing seemed like the best option.  Still didn't look too bad this morning, but I unwrapped it this afternoon to this...

I decided to go seek a professional opinion on the state of my ankle, which resulted in three lifetime firsts.
  • first x-ray (excluding dental)
  • first pair of crutches
  • first air cast

It's not broken, but the doctor sternly advised me to keep weight off my ankle for the next two or three days (hence the crutches) and wear the air cast for the next seven to ten days.  Shoes are going to be a problem.

We'll see how the crutches go over in the plant tomorrow.  And after, does anyone know where I can unload a very lightly used pair of crutches?  Why can't they just rent the things?
